# Rebuild the language word lists

The original Hunspell dictionary and affix files are in `sources/`, alongside their licenses. Generated word lists retain the license of the corresponding source dictionary: NL BSD-3-Clause, FR MPL-2.0, DE GPL-3.0, TR MIT. Full author attribution is in `sources/*-license` and the site's credits page.

`build.cjs` is the generation source. It normalizes Unicode and letter case, expands Hunspell affix rules through nspell, removes unsupported characters and words outside 2–15 letters, removes duplicates, and sorts the resulting words. Turkish is split into three text files to keep individual files below static hosting upload limits.

To rebuild without putting development dependencies into the public website folder:

1. Make a temporary working folder.
2. Copy `build.cjs` into that folder and copy `build-package.json` there as `package.json`.
3. Run `npm install` in that folder.
4. Run `node build.cjs "ABSOLUTE_PATH_TO_THIS_DICTIONARIES_FOLDER"`.

The complete editable ZIP includes a ready-made `tools/dictionary-build` folder for this workflow.

The website itself needs no build or dependency installation. The word list generator is only needed when changing the dictionary data.
